Capture

It is all in there somewhere.

Price sheets, sticky notes, old texts, and the things nobody ever wrote down. Capture is how we get it out.

Listen.

We record conversations with the people who know, with their say-so. We walk the job with them, and gather the binders, price sheets and messages you choose to share.

Sort.

Every recording is transcribed and every page is read. We pull out each thing a new person would need to know, one claim at a time.

Write it plain.

Each fact is rewritten in plain words, short enough to read in one breath, with who said it and when.

Check it.

When two people say different things, the fact gets flagged. The people who know settle it. We do not pick a winner.

Sign it.

You read every fact before it counts. Only what you sign off goes into your atlas.

What one fact looks like.

Every entry in your atlas has the same parts. Select one to see what it is for.

Sample entry

What we gather.

  • ConversationsSit-down interviews with the people who carry the know-how. Recorded only with their agreement.
  • Walk-throughsWe follow the work: the job site, the line, the counter, the truck. Most knowledge only comes out in place.
  • DocumentsBinders, price sheets, manuals, checklists, the laminated page by the door.
  • MessagesTexts and emails you choose to share, where the real answers often live.
  • The wallsWhiteboards, sticky notes, the sketch pinned above the desk.

What we will not do.

Record anyone who has not agreed. Every recorded conversation starts with a yes.

Fill a gap with a guess. When nobody knows, the atlas says so. A gap is information too.

Publish anything. Your atlas is yours. Nothing leaves it unless you decide it should.

Settle an argument for you. When two people disagree, we show you both and you decide.
